Jackson, Miss – The floats have been parked and the green garb has been packed away, but the Blair Batson Children’s Hospital is still experiencing the green left behind by the 29th annual Mal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival! Held on Saturday, March 19th in downtown Jackson, the parade brought over 65,000 people into the capitol city, and raised over $30,000 for the Children’s Hospital. One of the city’s largest annual events, the parade has a far-reaching impact on Jackson, bringing in over $7 million dollars to the metropolitan economy. A record number of participants signed up for all of the events on parade day, including the BancorpSouth 5K Run, the Pet Parade, and the Trustmark Children’s Parade & Festival. The maximum number of floats possible donned their annual “greenery” to share their revelry and their beads with the throngs of fans along the route. Plans are already underway for the 30th Annual Mal’s St. Paddy’s Parade & Festival, which will actually be held on the official St. Patrick’s Day…Saturday, March 17, 2012. Look for an even grander and greener celebration! Corporate sponsors made it possible for this outstanding event to be such a success! Special thanks to Capital City Beverage, Trustmark, BancorpSouth, The Clarion-Ledger and the Pyron Group. For more information on the parade, contact
