About the Team

Co-founded by brothers Hal and Malcolm White, Hal and Mal's remains a family-owned and operated establishment, with a second generation of the White family heavily involved. 

Meet the team that makes Hal and Mal's a family-friendly restaurant—and a modern entertainment venue—in Jackson, Mississippi.


Chef and Executive Chef

Ryan Bell and P.J. Lee

P.J. Lee (right) learned everything he knows from his father-in-law, Hal White. P.J. implements the vision of Hal and Mal's signature dishes while introducing new concepts both for the permanent menu and special occasions. P.J. is married to Brandi White Lee.

Ryan Bell (a native Texan) moved to Mississippi in 2010 to help open Parlor Market with the late Craig Noone. He immediately fell in love with Jackson. After leaving Parlor Market in 2012, he had a brief stint at Walker’s Drive-In under Chef Derek Emerson before taking a job in  Georgia, returning a year later to his adopted hometown. 

After the untimely passing of Hal White, P.J. took over the kitchen at Hal & Mal's and, soon after, reached out to Ryan to join the team.


Events and Catering

Brandi Lee & Alissa Joseph

Brandi White Lee (left) is the daughter of Hal and Mal's co-founder Hal White. A medical professional by day, Brandi manages off-site events and catering along with events coordinator Alissa Joseph.
